Firefox browser

To use a SOCKS5 proxy in Firefox, follow these steps:

Steps:

  1. Open Firefox browser.

  2. Click the three horizontal lines (menu) in the top-right corner and select Settings.

  3. In the left-hand menu, choose Network Settings, then click the Settings... button.

  4. In the Connection Settings window that appears, select Manual proxy configuration.

  5. In the SOCKS Host field, enter the IP address of your SOCKS5 proxy, and in the Port field, enter the corresponding port number.

  6. Make sure to select SOCKS v5, not the default SOCKS v4.

  7. If you want Firefox to resolve DNS requests through the proxy, check the option Proxy DNS when using SOCKS v5.

  8. Click OK to save your settings.

Example:

  • SOCKS Host: 127.0.0.1

  • Port: 1080

After completing these steps, Firefox will route its network traffic through the specified SOCKS5 proxy, without affecting system-wide proxy settings.

Special note: Firefox cannot directly set the account and password, so the above steps are only valid for Cliproxy desktop program extraction and static IP whitelist mode. If you want to use Cliproxy traffic plan, you need to download additional extensions for configuration.
